A rep for Bergen, 78, confirmed the news to PEOPLE, noting that Rose and theMurphy Brownstar, who married in June 2000, were approaching their 25th wedding anniversary. Rose “spent his life in New York,” according to the obituary. Born in Brighton Beach in 1937, he earned an economics degree at City College and a law degree from New York University.
