Austin Pets Alive!
The puppy, who is roughly 1 month old and just 6 lbs., was dropped off at an Austin shelter in Texas and transferred toAustin Pets Alive!(APA!) on Dec. 9 to receive emergency medical care, according to APA!’s Luis Sanchez.
The pup is “gaining strength,” but his recovery is “far from over.”

A six-year-old girl has reportedly died in a drowning incident at a home in New York City.
The girl was found “unconscious and unresponsive” in a filled-up bathtub at a residence block in Cyprus Hills, Brooklyn, at around 1:30 p.m. local time on Friday, Feb. 7, as police responded to a 911 call at the home,NBC New York,The New York TimesandNew York Daily Newsreported.

A woman ate crayfish (also known as crawfish) with worms burrowed into it and subsequently suffered an adverse medical reaction.
According to a report published in theJournal of the American Medical Association, the 60-year-old woman arrived at the hospital following three days of “persistent fever,” which had raised to 38 degrees Celsius or 100.

A 64-year-old man who had been missing for two days after he disappeared while on a hike with his family in Puerto Rico has been found safe.
The man was discovered in an area of the rainforest far from where he was last seen — about a distance that would take 15 hours to hike, WDJT reported. He suffered no major injuries and had a few minor scrapes on his body.

An elderly man with swallowing difficulties died at a hospital in England after he was wrongly fed jello, a court has heard.

Fieldfisher — who represented Cassin’s family at the inquest — added that he had been “on a modified diet and required supervision when eating to mitigate aspiration risk.”
“Jelly (jello) was specifically and repeatedly highlighted in his notes as a food he should not be given,” they added in their release.
