After a Good Samaritan found a trio of puppies in a South Dakota dumpster, a local animal rescue is looking for answers.
And if it weren’t for the “Good Samaritan” who stopped to investigate, Day explained, the young canines would not have made it — a terrible fate, especially when they were local rescues able to take them in the little canines.

“There’s no point in making puppies suffer,” she told KELO. “If this good samaritan wouldn’t have found these puppies, their fate was death.”
Added Day: “It’s too cold for a human being to be staying outside right now, these puppies had no chance.”

“They are a lot of work,” Day told KELO, because they “require constant feedings, you have to weigh them every day, and you have to stimulate them to go potty and poop.”
“So there’s a lot of work to them,” the Almost Home founder reiterated — and asked the Sioux Falls community for help.
The South Dakota rescue shared the “precious” puppies' story on social media, introducing Bo, Birdie, and Brody with adorable photos and requesting donations—and “prayers and good vibes.”
“These little fighters just opened their eyes and are in desperate need of some TLC,” the rescue wrote in a Jan. 26Facebook post. “While they’re warm, active, and comfortable now, they’re dehydrated and need extra care to thrive.”

The post has raised over $670 in just two days and garnered the adorable trio many supporters. But it also inspired outrage, with users hoping that whoever abandoned the canines would be held accountable for their actions.

“Once again, what is wrong with people! Thank goodness they were found!” one top comment read, while another said, “I hope whoever abandoned them is found and held accountable. What a horrible thing to do.”
Day echoed this sentiment, telling KELO that the person responsible for abandoning the canine trio should be identified and charged with animal cruelty and requesting that anyone with information contact authorities.
“Somebody has to know something,” she said, “somebody knows their friend or family members had puppies.”
