After a two-week trial, Isaiah Stokes, 45, was found guilty of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the shooting death of 37-year-old Tyrone Jones, according to a March 10press releasefrom the Queens District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Stokes had sought revenge against Jones since October 2020 when the victim kicked him out of his birthday party during an altercation at a Queens club.

On the afternoon of Feb. 7, 2021, Stokes got out of a parked SUV and walked around the area for about 15 minutes before pulling out a gun and firing 11 times at Jones’ car.

Jones, who was waiting for a friend inside the car, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest, prosecutors said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stokes then drove the car back to his apartment in Rego Park, Queens, later that afternoon and returned it to a rental location in Hackensack, N.J., per the release.
