Brittany Howard, Zac Cockrell and Heath Fogg are back asAlabama Shakes!

On Friday, Feb. 7, the multi-Grammy-winning rock group announced a summer 2025 reunion tour.

“The wait is over…we’re back!!” they wrote in anInstagram post. The band — comprised of lead singer and guitarist Howard, 36, guitarist Fogg, 40 and bassist Cockrell, 37 — have been teasing their return on social media all week.

“Working on some exciting stuff!” they captioned a photo of themselves in the studio — the first picture on a seemingly scrubbed Instagram account.

According to a press release, “The tour will mark Alabama Shakes’ first official live performances since their 2017 set at Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Québec” — and they’re also making new music.

The “Hold On” performers went on hiatus in 2018 for members to pursue solo careers. Howard released her debut solo album,Jaime, in 2019, which earned her two Grammy nominations. Her second album,What Now, released in Feb. 2024, was also nominated for a Grammy Award. Fogg released his own solo LP under the name Sun on Shade in 2020.

“Last year, Heath, Zac, and I started chatting about how much fun it would be to make music together and tour again as Alabama Shakes,” Howard said in a statement. “This band and these songs have been such a source of joy for all of us."

“It is crazy that it has been 10 years since we releasedSound and Colorand eight years since we played a show,” she continued. “But we didn’t want this to entirely be a look back. We wanted it to be as much about the future as the past. So, we have a bunch of new music that will be released soon. We just can’t wait to experience that ‘feeling’ when we start playing those first few notes of ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’ or ‘Gimme All Your Love.’”
