Lady Gaga’s engagement ring from her fiancéMichael Polanskyis a one-of-a-kind sparkler.

Speaking withVoguein September 2024, Gaga opened up abouthow Polansky helped fulfillthe “missing piece” in her life of “having real love.”

“I had never met anyone like Michael,” she said. “He’s so smart and so kind. And his life and my life are very different. He’s a very private guy and he’s not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other.”

Gaga added, “But I think what I want my fans to know is that I’m just, like, so happy.”

Since Polanskypopped the question on April Fool’s Day, a day known for pranks, Gaga revealed onThe Graham Norton Showthat she initially “thought he was joking.” She later opened up about the moment onJimmy Kimmel Live!and said the pair were rock climbing when he proposed a few days after the singer’s birthday.

“He didn’t propose to me at the top. We climbed up to the top … took some photos and then we went back down,” Gaga said. “And we were just walking back to the room and talking and he said … it was very Michael, to ask me if he could ask me.”

She added, “He wanted to know if it was OK to propose before he proposed and I was like, ‘Yes! It’s so OK!’ ”

When hostJimmy Kimmelasked Gaga if Polansky got down on one knee, she responded, “No, he didn’t. But you know what, I’m a modern lady, I like what he did.”

She confirmed her engagement in July 2024

In September 2024, Gaga shared onThe Graham Norton Showhow difficult it was to keep her engagement a secret when she had several public appearances planned.

“When we went to the Olympics, we were filmed saying hello to the Prime Minister [Gabriel Attal] and I was caught on camera saying, ‘This is my fiancé,’ ” she said. “I had wanted to keep it a secret!”

Before Gaga met Polansky, her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, predicted thatthe pair would eventually marryafter she encountered him first at an event.

“My mom met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ Gaga toldVoguein September 2024. “I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!’ "

She added, “I could never have imagined that my mom … found the most perfect person for me?”

Gaga also shared with the magazine that she later met Polansky at a birthday party for Napster Founder and Facebook co-founder Sean Parker in December 2019.

“I got invited [to Parker’s party] and I said, ‘I wonder if Michael is going to be there,’ and my mom said yes,” the Grammy winner recalled. “So I went to the ​party and I kept asking for him and he finally came over to me and we talked for three hours. We had the most amazing conversation.”
