Amazon Joins Wal-Mart in the Hermès Dupe Game. Buy the Viral Kelly Lookalike Bag for Only $42

Amazon is getting in on the Hermès dupe craze.

The online retailer is selling asatchel handbagthat bears close resemblance to Hermès' iconic Kelly bag. Made with faux leather and faux suede, the Amazon bag recreates the Kelly’s signature silhouette, complete with a handle on top and crossbody strap.

The purse is priced at $42 and is available in multiple colorways (it has already sold out in theivory faux leather) and two different sizes. In comparison, authentic Kelly bags retail anywhere from $8,000 to hundreds of thousands.

The product reviews on Amazon are largely positive with many citing that the item is good quality for the price. “I was truly surprise how nice this bag looks and is function, yet small enough to carry my essentials,” one reviewer wrote. “You cannot go wrong with this ‘kelly styled’ bag.”

Another said, in part, “…Man you cannot tell the difference with quality and looks. Yes, no orange box or dust cover but the purse is amazing. Looks so believable that I only use on special occasions.”

In December 2024, Walmart’s take on the Hermès Birkin bag, dubbed the “Walmès Wirkin,” went viral on social media. Influencers and consumers clamored to get their hands on the $79 piece, which quicklysold out. On the Walmart website, the item was described as a leather shoulder bag and was offered in 12 colors including orange, dark blue, pink, light blue, dark khaki and dark sky gray.

As the piece gained popularity, other versions of the bag were discovered on Walmart’s website, such asKAMUGO’shandbag — which also sold out — retailing at $102.

TikToker @wildunfilteredcompared the lookalike to her own handbag, which she said was a real Birkin.
