Amy Schumerhas a feeling her son may be interested in following in her comedic footsteps.
On Monday, Feb. 3, PEOPLE spoke to the actress, 43, at the New York red carpet premiere of her new Netflix movie,Kinda Pregnant, held at the Paris Theater.

As a mother to 5-year-oldGene, whom she shares with husbandChris Fischer, 45, Schumer says their kid is already showing signs of greatness.

“He’s really funny,” Schumer tells PEOPLE of her little one.
She adds, “I don’t know what his story is going to be, but he loves doing stunts and making people laugh.”
During a recent appearance onAlex Cooper’sCall Her Daddypodcast, the comedian said although Gene has only seenTrolls 3in its entirety, he has shown a bit of interest in some of her other films.

The 5-year-old was able to get a sneak peek ofKinda Pregnantwhen he saw Schumer editing it.
“He thinks that the stunts are funny,” she said during the episode.
During one scene in the upcoming film, Schumer falls face forward onto her stomach while wearing her prosthetic belly during yoga class. The accident sends the instructor and participants into a panic as they think she’s actually with child.
Schumer — who has spoken out about her “really scary” 2019 delivery in past interviews — adds that herKinda PregnantcostarGinny and Georgia’s Brianne Howey’s character Meg is the one she feels “closest” to.

“The character Meg, who Bri Howey plays, is sort of the closest to me and my experience where she’s going through a lot of emotions about it. Isn’t bright-eyed and bushy tailed about being pregnant like we’re all told we’re supposed to be,” Schumer tells PEOPLE.
“So to me, that was really important to show that part of some people’s pregnancy experience,” she adds.

The movie also stars Damon Wayans Jr., Alex Moffat, Joel David Moore, Lizze Broadway, Urzila Carlson and Francis Benhamou.
