Jeff Goldblum, the wonderful Wizard himself, is teasing big things to come in the upcomingWicked: For Good.
“Ariana GrandeandCynthia Erivo, Elphaba and Glinda, oh my gosh, will further thrill you and chill you and devastate you, yes,” Goldblum, 72, said alongside wifeEmilie Livingstonon the red carpet for the 97thAcademy Awardson Sunday.
“I don’t want to be a tattletale or a spoiler,” he told ABC’sOn the Red Carpetwhen asked to tease details about the upcoming installment, which will be released on Nov. 21, 2025. “Well, I do something in it. I may be tuneful.”
Goldblum plays the self-styled Wonderful Wizard of Oz in directorJon M. Chu’s two-part screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. He promised an emotional conclusion to the origin story for Grande’s Glinda the Good Witch and Erivo’s Wicked Witch of the West — the second part of which is sure to involveDorothyblustering in from Kansas.
The Wizard is indeed “involved” inFor Good, confirmed Goldblum. And, of course, “there might be some emotional complications and twists.”

At this year’s Oscars, whereWicked: Part Oneis nominated in 10 categories including Best Picture, Goldblum — nominated for short filmLittle Surprisesin 1996 — said he was “looking forward to just being here and enjoying ourselves and celebrating the community and all the people in the cast.”
Calling acting nominees Grande and Erivo “unbelievably fantastic and incomparable,” he added, “Jon M. Chu made a fantastic movie. And I just love that people seem to love the movie… I love it myself, and since I saw the stage show, I’ve been in tears and my heart broke wide open with love.”

“IfPart 1is about choices,Part 2is about consequences,” Chu toldEntertainment Weeklyin a November 2024 interview teasing the next installment. Characters like Elphaba and Glinda, he added, will be “asking, ‘Is this the right decision that you made?'"
