Ashley Darby Says She 'Cried Like a Baby' After Learning Karen Huger Was Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison After DUI

OnTheTamron HallShowon Feb. 27, Huger’sReal Housewives of Potomaccostar opened up about the sentencing, as she told the audience, “I really do encourage everyone to keep Karen in your prayers.”

The reality star has 30 days to appeal the judge’s decision and 90 days to ask the judge to reconsider his order. She will also have to serve five years of probation related to the charges.

Hugeraddressed the arrest and took responsibility for her actions during theRHOPseason 9 reunion, which aired in February, as she revealedshe’d checked into a private recovery center to “get to the bottom” of “taking antidepressants and drinking"days aftershe was found guilty on the DUI and DWI charges in December.

“This is very frightening but I accept full responsibility for everything that went on with my car accident,” she said in the clip, clarifying, “No, I’m not an alcoholic, let’s be clear.”

Her family was her main concern, she said. “I don’t care about me right now. I care about my children, I care about my family. They are so hurt.”

“I mean, you know I care for these women and all I wanted them to do was be patient and wait because it’s an ongoing case. But you know Ashley saying what she said — and let’s be clear, Ashley needs to be concerned about her relationship with alcohol the way she sucks down the Coronas. I’m just saying.”

She wondered if her costars were “wishing me harm,” as she continued, “Honestly, I’m hoping to win when it all comes out, but I have to respect the law. When I can speak about it, I plan to be open and transparent as I always have been.”

After Huger was found guilty in court in December, body cam footage from her March arrest was released and showed her repeatedly refusing to take a field sobriety test and breathalyzer, according to local outletFOX 5 DC.

She also told officers that “nothing really” had happened when she was asked about the accident, whichMontgomery County Police told PEOPLE was a single-vehicle collisionthat occurred when Huger crossed a median and struck multiple street signs.
