Avan Jogia Reveals One of the 'Joys' of Being Engaged to Halsey (Exclusive)

Avan Jogiais opening up about one of the joys of being withHalsey.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the actor/author, 33, reveals the benefits of being in a romantic relationship with someone else who is a creative.

“One of the great joys of being with someone who’s an artist is being able to make art with them and to go back and forth about the art that they’re making and how you can contribute and be helpful, and them being able to contribute and be helpful to your own art,” Jogia explains.

He admitted this kind of dynamic is what he’s “always desired in a partnership.”

“The only thing that I care about is the making of things,” Jogia says. “So when you have someone who can meet you there and meet you where you’re at, that’s one of the joys of it, for sure.”

According to Jogia, he and the alt-pop star (who uses she/they pronouns) collaborate creatively in a variety of ways.

“Sometimes it’s music, sometimes it’s writing,” theNow Apocalypsestar explains. “It’s all the stuff that we do.”

The couple doesn’t like to be “pinned down” in terms of their interests.

“If she busts through the door and has an idea, and I bust the door and have an idea, and it doesn’t have to be about acting or music or movies — it could be a cookbook — we just make what we have to make,” Jogia explains.

Of his relationship with Halsey, 30, he says, “I think I’m happy to have found someone I can be matched with in that capacity.

In September 2024, Halsey — who shares3-year-old son Enderwith ex Alev Aydin —confirmed the news of her engagement on X, calling Jogia their “fiancé.”

TheVictoriousalum and “Ego” performer firstsparked dating rumorsin September 2023 when they were spotted kissing in Los Angeles.
