Best Man Reveals in Wedding Toast that He Was Dating the Bride When She Met the Groom (Exclusive)

During his wedding speech, the best man revealed he was dating the bride when she first met the groom.

Bride Rachel and groom Foster got married at Willow Creek Mansion in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on Sept. 24, 2022. The groom’s best man, Dylan, gave a toast during the reception that made the couple’s approximate 150 wedding guests' jaws drop.

“I just noticed the connection they had,” Dylan recalled into a microphone. “The laughs they shared together, the way they looked at each other. And you would think it sounds really romantic, but the only problem was I was dating Rachel at the time.”

Almost everyone, including Foster, began cheering. However, some wedding guests behind the newlyweds had expressions of disbelief, with one man even covering his mouth with his hand.

“Dylan and Rachel dated when they were 15 and 16 years old and they were all part of this friend group that included the groom, Foster,” Josh and Mare tell PEOPLE. “The crowd loved it and erupted with laughter, even the parents thought it was hysterical because they know it was all very innocent and they were very young.”

“Not him trying to laugh it off, but still hurt 😂😂😂,” the top comment with nearly 28,000 likes reads. Similarly, someone else wrote, “His eyes tell it all and why was so she excited 😅.”

Most commenters appreciated the “risky little joke” because wedding speeches can be boring.
