“Back in action / back in action / satisfaction, we’re back in action!” Foxx sings, while his costar busts out a shimmy, laughing.

“People don’t even realize how long we’ve been friends,” theOscarwinner tells Diaz, who replies, “True. Since we were inAny Given Sundaytogether, which was in 1999!”

“Back in action / and we’ve been friends since before Apple started making the iPod and now they make the iPhone and not the iPod,” Foxx hilariously improvises, in song.

“Tell ‘em what else happened, Jamie,” Diaz says, to which Foxx replies (singing, of course!), “What else happened wasMartha Stewartgot super into weed and became best friends withSnoop.”

“I made fourShrekmovies,” Diaz says.

“Yes! Love that,” Foxx responds. “We also didAnnietogether. And we lived through so much. We lived throughKeyboard Cat,Pizza Rat, NFTs, DVDs,Corn Kid, Bean Dad,Salt Bae,Left Shark,Pink Sauce,Grimace Shakeand’The Dress.'”

“Oh yeah, which was white and gold,” Diaz insists — but Foxx protests, “I thought it was black and blue.”

Netflix debuted the first teasertrailer forBack in Actionin November, showing Foxx and Diaz on a high-octane thrill ride as a married couple forced back into their old jobs as spies.

“Years after giving up life as CIA spies to start a family, Emily and Matt find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown,” a synopsis teases.

Back in Actionis Diaz’s first movie role since 2014’sAnnie, which Foxx also starred in. Herreturn to actingwas first announced in June 2022, and she and Foxx werelater seen filmingthe action-comedy as soon as December of that year.

Production on the moviecontinuedthrough January 2024. The film’s production made headlines in April 2023 when Foxx had amedical emergencythatinterruptedfilming for a period of time.

The actor chronicles his health challenges in a recently released comedy special titledJamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was …, now streaming on Netflix.
