Ciara Says She Has Two Phones for This Relatable Reason: 'I've Run Out of Space'

During the Thursday, Jan. 2 appearance onSummer Walker’s podcastOver It Radioon Apple Music, the “1, 2 Step” singer revealed that she has two cell phones and has a pretty relatable reason for keeping both on her.

When discussing red and green flags in relationships, Walker, 28, asked Ciara, 39, if someone having two cell phones is a red flag. “That is not a red flag. That’s OK. Let me tell you why,” Ciara said.

Walker asked if the singer meant one phone was for personal use and the other for business — something not uncommon.

“Listen, I have two phones, but [mine] are combined,” Ciara explained. “It’s personal and business on both phones, but I’m obsessed with taking pictures. So I’ve run out of space on one phone.”

The singer — who is a prolific Instagram user, posting pictures of herself, her husbandRussell Wilsonandtheir children sons Future and Win and daughters Sienna and Amora— added that the person’s character is also important before doubling down on her dual cell phones.

“I’m not tripping about two phones,” Ciara said.

Elsewhere in the conversation, the “Goodies” hitmaker — whose husband is a quarterback for thePittsburgh Steelers— didn’t consider dating an athlete a red flag.

“It’s all about the person,” Ciara said. “It’s not about what they do. It’s all about the person. A person can be an athlete, or they can be a doctor, or they can be an actor. It don’t matter what it is. It’s all about their character and who they are.”

Ciara and Wilson, 36,met in 2015 and got married the following year. Throughout their relationship, Wilson has always played for the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos.

“Russ keeps walking around going like this, like, ‘Cinco.’ And I’m like, ‘High five, I love you too,’ " Ciaratold PEOPLE in November. “I mean, listen, I think we’ll make it to five, but this mom needs a little time. Just a little bit.”
