In the next scene, a new Mountie, Fearless Fletcher (Christopher Russell) — who is “filling in until Gabriel (RJ Hatanaka) gets back” — is asking around about Nora just as she comes up behind him. He’s so taken aback that he knocks over her coffee. Of course, fans will know exactly what they’re looking at: It’s a meet-cute!

Next, Nora reveals to Lillian (Morgan Kohan) the real reason for her journey to Brookfield.
“I knew your mother,” she says, to which Lillian asks, “My birth mother?”
In another scene, we see Nora and Fletcher enjoying a carriage ride as we hear Constable Jim Reynolds (Trevor Donovan, who first appears in episode 3) sharing some wisdom with his fellow officer. “She’s a good person, good heart, not to mention beautiful,” he says.

As the season kicks off, Lillian and Gabriel are apart, but he’s still writing love letters, and Sam (Jon McLaren) returns to town, while Hannah (Sarah Fisher) struggles to maintain her uncle’s ranch.

“There’s gonna be a little bit of family-oriented fun, there’s gonna be a lot of heart, and let me tell you, there’s gonna be some romance," Russell said. “Some people are gonna fall in love, they might even kiss."
