Cori Broadus Says Introducing Boyfriends to Dad Snoop Dogg Was 'Scary': 'I'd Been So Used to Toxic Relationships'

Cori Broadushas finally found her “person” — but it wasn’t always an easy path.

The reality star and daughter ofSnoop Dogg, who is engaged to photographer Wayne Deuce, opened up about her journey to a healthy, happy relationship in an interview withBossip, revealing that she previously didn’t think “marriage was in the cards for me.”

“I’d been so used to toxic relationships — going through phones, high adrenaline from fights, dealing with drama,” Broadus, 25, told the outlet. “Wayne was different. He loved me — all of me."

“It was uncomfortable at first, because I wasn’t used to that kind of peace. But he’s my safe space, my person,” she added.

The E! star also revealed that she used to be afraid to introduce her boyfriends to her dad, recalling, “It was scary because my dad is who he is, and the boys I was dealing with weren’t the best."

“I made sure not just anybody met my dad. You had to really mean something to me to meet him,” she continued.

Broadus and Deuce, 32,met in 2018at a party. Deuce later proposed to Broadus in November 2022 after almost five years of dating.

The pair shared their wedding planning journey inSnoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story, a three-part docuseries that aired on E! this month.

Broadus road to happiness wasn’t without its challenges. The Choc Factory cosmetics founder has faced significant physical and mental health challenges over the years, after she wasdiagnosed with lupus, a chronic inflammatory disease, at the age of six.

In May 2021, she revealed that she had attempted suicide during a depressive episode in acandid Instagram post.

Broadus noted in her caption that her family and Deuce “really give me a purpose to live & helped me realize life is much more than materialistic things,” adding, “You gotta just keep pushing through the bulls—.”

In addition to planning a wedding, Broadus recently dropped her first EP,Journals to Johnny,on Dec. 6.
