Country Artist Payton Smith and Wife Hannah Welcome First Baby, Daughter Sunnie: 'New Project Dropped'

Payton Smithis officially a dad!

“Sunnie Lynn Smith - Born 02/12/25 ☀️ 7 lb 6 oz of pure sunshine,” the couple wrote in their caption. “Thank you Jesus for our sweet girl.”

The newly minted father also shared a snap of his newborn resting on his chest to his Instagram Stories. “New project dropped. Really really proud of this one ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” he wrote over the picture.

Back in August, the musician and his wiferevealed their happy news exclusively with PEOPLE, sharing that they’d always dreamed of becoming parents together.

“It’s very surreal to know that we’re going to be parents,” exclaimed Smith. “We’re over the moon about it. It’s very surreal. It hasn’t quite kicked in for the both of us yet, but we’re super excited.”

While the couple admitted that the pregnancy was “definitely unplanned,” they said it was something that they have always wanted.

“I think that family is one of the most important things for both of us, and we have really great parents and family members that have modeled that very well,” said Hannah. “So that’s always been something we were excited about but didn’t think it would happen this soon. But we’re excited.”
