Danny Pintauro Shows Off Abdomen Scar After Scary Scooter Accident

Danny Pintaurois healing after ascooter accidentduring the holidays left him hospitalized with a large scar on his abdomen.

“Well, this birthday certainly hits differently. So I decided to open the bottle of@barefootwineLimited Edition Pride 2020 Rose I’ve been saving for a special occasion,” Pintauro began in his Instagram Reels caption.

“Surviving 2024 is absolutely a special occasion! Survive in 2024, THRIVE in 2025. And then I decided to do a little impromptu scar reveal photoshoot!” his caption concluded.

The video, set toAriana Grande’s “Sweetener,” showed the actor standing shirtless in a pair of jeans as he poured himself a glass to celebrate both his birthday and being alive.

A diagonal scar could be seen, stretching from under his chest to above his navel.

Pintauro shared news of the accident in a Dec. 1Instagrampost, which included footage of him lying in a hospital bed with an intubation tube in his mouth. As the video went on, he explained he had been riding a scooter in the bike lane, when it was “suddenly blocked with cones.”

With only moments to spare before the imminent crash, he had “to choose between a van and a pylon," the actor said, adding that “pylons hurt!!”

He shared his injuries, explaining that the pain was so bad, he thought he’d broken his arm. Pintauro added that it wasn’t until Nov. 30 that the pain got so bad, he could “barely breathe.”

His husband, Wil Tabares, took him to Memorial Care Miller Hospital in Long Beach, Calif., where Pintauro had tests done and learned he had “an infection in my bloodstream due to a tear in my stomach lining — air and stomach acid, etc, were escaping into my abdomen.”

“They always say this but it’s very true, if I had waited any longer, I could have died. My body was the one who told me something was absolutely wrong,” he said later in the clip.

In a Dec. 19 update, Pintauro stated in anInstagramupdate that he’d undergone a laparotomy, or open abdominal surgery, theCleveland Clinicstates, adding that the operation usually occurs in an “emergency setting.”

“I had the stitches and the tube removed,” he said. “So I’m officially free of anything constricting, which feels great.”

In a message posted onInstagrama week ago, he said he felt at “93 percent,” and thanked fans for helping him surpass his GoFundMe goal of $5,000.
