“I’m lucky enough to be a father of three boys and one beautiful girl. I want Harper to grow up in a world where being a girl doesn’t determine what you can do, where you can go, or who you can become.”

“What an exciting prospect if we can unlock their potential and support their development,” he added, per the outlet.

David was presented with the Crystal Award for his cultural impact and humanitarianism at Monday’s ceremony. After the event, the former soccer player, who has been a UNICEF goodwill ambassador since 2005, shared his hopes of being “the voice of children” at the World Economic Forum, Sky News reported.
