Goldberg recently revealedwhat convinced her to take the role. “I get a phone call from my agent, Ron Meyer, who says, ‘Patrick Swayze has been hired for this movie. Patrick is not going to do this if you don’t do it. Can you make some time for him and the director to come up?’ " the EGOT winner told author Dave Karger in his book50 Oscar Nights.The director and Swazye flew out to meet Goldberg, and the two of them quickly become friends.
Moore is nominated for her first Oscar for Best Actress for her role inThe Substance.The actress is coming off a successful award show season after winning aSAG awardandGolden Globefor the same role.
