Denis Learyknows his strengths.
The actor, 67, who has beenmarried to his wife Ann since 1989, admits he has a go-to when it comes to honey-do chores. “Listen, here’s my thing. I’m a guy who can’t cook,” he tells PEOPLE for this week’s issue. “I grew up in the city. If you wanted food, you walked maybe down the end of the block or you called it in. But I was a dishwasher. It was one of my jobs when I was younger that I loved and I was good at it.”

Last thing I learned about myselfAs I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized certain things don’t mean as much — like I’m still a huge sports fan, but losing doesn’t bother me. The most important thing becomes your family and how they’re doing.

Last superstitionWhen I’m getting dressed to play hockey, everything on the left side, shin pad, skate, it all goes on first. Then the right side. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid.
Last thing I do before I go onstageThe guy who usually intro-duces me wasn’t able to, so I said, “I’ll just do it myself. It’ll be an inside joke.” A lot of people in the audience could tell, so it was like, “How big of an ego does this guy have?” Plus it made all of them smile, so I think that’s my thing now.
No Good Deedis now streaming on Netflix.Going Dutchairs on Fox on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. ET.
