It’s the end of the road forCourtney FordandBrandon Routh.
A date of separation was not provided.
The couple, whogot married in November 2007 in Santa Barbara, share a 12-year-old son, Leo. Ford has requested joint legal and physical custody of him.
She also requested spousal support from the 45-year-oldSuperman Returnsstar.

The longtime couple rarely posted on social media about their relationship or their family. Ford’s lastpostof Routh was on Father’s Day in 2023, as he posed with their son.
Meanwhile, his most recentpostfor her was from Mother’s Day the same year.
“She’s a ride-or-die friend, and a mom who’s all in,” he wrote of Ford. “I’m so grateful that Leo has @courtneyfordhere, who jumps feet first into living, giving him permission and unconditional love to be fully himself. ❤️🙏🏻🙌🏼.”
Theygot engaged in 2006after three years together, a rep for Routh told PEOPLE at the time.
The actor told PEOPLE earlier that year that he met Ford “not through acting” but while working at the bowling alley Lucky Strike. “I was a bartender. And her brother was having his [wedding] rehearsal dinner party there,” he said.
They overcame the challenges of long-distance, too, when Routh was in Australia for five months filming 2006’sSuperman Returns, his breakout role, and Ford told PEOPLE they scheduled “nightly phone calls” to stay in touch while he was gone.

They went on towork together on DC’sLegends of Tomorrowseriesfor three seasons before they both exited the series after season 5 in 2020.
“Getting to work together, the two of us, and do the comedy and play off each other has been really amazing and just keeps building and building,” he told PEOPLE Now of working with Ford on the show in 2019.
