Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas is climbing to the top with her new novel!
According to a press release shared with PEOPLE, Star will co-write and executive produce the work alongside Goldsmith-Thomas.

Goldsmith-Thomas is a talent agent and producer who has worked with big-name stars, includingJulia Roberts,Spike Lee,Nicolas CageandMadonna, among others. The author currently works as a producing partner withJennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Production. She and Lopez, 55, have previously collaborated on the hit worksMaid in Manhattan,HustlersandThe Mother.

Star, who struck a multi-year deal with Universal Television in March, added in a statement, “I’m excited to team up with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas to bringClimbing in Heels– her addictive fictional account of Hollywood in the 1980s through a female lens — to the screen.” He went on to describe the book as “the ballsy and bawdy love child ofMad MenandSex and the City.”

Set to hit the shelves in 2025,Climbing in Heelsfollows the rise of five ambitious secretaries in 1980s Hollywood. “It’s a juicy story of friendship, betrayal, survival and ambition,” the synopsis teases. “It’s also a cautionary tale about how some of those women became very much like the monsters they worked for.”
Lopez hails the fictional novel as “smart, sexy and entertaining.”
Climbing in Heelswill release on April 29, 2025 and is available for preorder now, wherever books are sold.
