Ewan McGregor's 5 Kids: All About His 4 Daughters and 1 Son

“They’re my everything,” he toldThe Hollywood Reporterin April 2021 of his four daughters.

Ewan and Eve separated in May 2017 after 22 years of marriage. However, they didn’t announce their split until October of that year when photos of Ewan kissing hisFargocostar,Mary Elizabeth Winstead, surfaced. Afterward, Ewantook a step back from workfor nearly 10 months to spend time with his children.

He later toldGQ,the divorce, which wasfinalizedin 2020, was like “a bomb going off in everyone’s life — my children’s lives.”

The following year, Ewan welcomed his fifth child and first son,Laurie, with Winstead.The couple marriedin a small ceremony in April 2022.

Ewanreceived a star on the Hollywood Walk of Famein September 2024. Winstead and four of the actor’s children — Clara, Jamyan, Anouk and Laurie — were all present for the special event.

Here’s everything to know about Ewan McGregor’s five kids: Clara, Esther, Jamyan, Anouk and Laurie.

Clara McGregor, 29

Ewan’s eldest child, Clara McGregor, was born in England on Feb. 4, 1996. Though she initially “turned [her] back on acting” to carve her own individual career, Clara eventually realized that she wanted to be an actress after spending time in front of the camera modeling.

After signing withWilhelmina Modelsin 2017 and graduating from New York University the following year, Claraposed forPlayboyand partnered withBluebellafor their Christmas lingerie collection.

During a conversation with the British brand, she opened up about what the Bluebella partnership meant to her. “I’m bisexual myself so I’m always wanting to work with them because they have represented the LGBT+ community and they are open to all walks of life and different people,” she said.

Earlier that year, Clara made headlines when she publicly commented abouther father’s then-girlfriend, Winstead, calling her “a piece of trash” in an Instagram post. She later apologized for the remark in an interview with the U.K. publicationThe Times.“It wasn’tmy finest moment,” she told the outlet.

Speaking about her dad, she said, “I love him and I always will,” before adding, “We are incredibly close and despite me strongly disagreeing with how he’s gone about things, I’ll always love him, and I hope he’s happy, you know?”

On-screen, Clara acted alongside her father in the crime thriller movieThe Birthday Cake, which she also co-produced. After Clara starred inAmerican Horror Story: NYC, the pair reunited for the drama filmYou Sing Loud, I Sing Louder,though the title has now been changed toBleeding Love.

The movie will see Clara and Ewan playing an estranged daughter and father who reunite for a road trip that forces them to face the issues that destroyed their relationship. In January 2024, PEOPLE shared an exclusive sneak peek at the first trailer for the movie, which will be in theaters and on-demand on Feb. 16.

Clara told PEOPLE that filming the movie with her dad was an “incredible experience.”

“It’s rare as an adult that you get to spend that amount of time with your parents, so that was really special. I’d always admired my dad as an actor and getting to act with him showed me how good he is at what he does," she said.

Esther McGregor, 23

Ewan and Eve welcomed their second daughter, Esther-Rose McGregor, on Nov. 7, 2001. She has several artistic and creative interests, including music and permanent art.

Like her older sister, Esther has done a fair amount of modeling. In August 2018, she and Clara were featured in a campaign forFendi. Esther is currently signed with boutique modeling agency Souls&Faces Cast.

“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” Ewan toldThe New York Timesin May 2021about his daughters in the ad. “I was able to visit them on a shoot that they both did together in New York … I actually went out and got them some sandwiches. There was no catering.”

In addition to modeling, Esther is part of the two-person bandFrench Thyme, for which she sings in English and French. The duo released their debut EP in August 2020. Esther is alsoa tattoo artistwith her own business in New York City. While attending NYU, she spoke to the school’s newspaper,Washington Square News, in October 2021 and explained why she loves tattooing.

“I want to enhance the way people look at themselves and make people feel more comfortable in their own skin,” Esther explained. “In general, I think that my art has been a reflection of myself.”

She has also acted alongside her father, making a cameo in the Disney+ seriesObi-WanKenobi. While appearing onThe Late Late Show with James Corden,Ewan talked about her landing the part of Tetha Grig.

“I’m sure everybody thinks she got the job because of me, but really she didn’t. She auditioned for the role,” he said toJames Corden.

Calling her “brilliant,” he added, “You don’t really know with your kids until that moment when I was acting with her and it felt really normal and natural.”

Jamyan McGregor, 23

In April 2006, Ewan and Eve adopted their daughter Jamyan McGregor from Mongolia when she was 4 years old. Jamyan was born in June 2001.

“[I] left that day, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that little girl,” he said. “It took nearly two years, but eventually we adopted Jamyan.”

The Scottish actor added that it was a “big moment” for him that “changed everything.”

According toJamyan’s Instagram bio, she graduated from the California boarding school Besant Hill School of Happy Valley in 2020. She’s currently studying criminal justice at Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut, and is set to earn her degree in 2024.

Onher Facebook, she describes herself as a “women’s rights activist, swimmer, international traveler, equestrian.” In June 2023, Jamyan shared that she gother first tattoo, “M for McGregor. McGregor Family Strong,” on her left hand.

In 2021, Esther posted a heartfelt tribute to her onInstagram. “Happy birthday Jams ❤️ so thankful to have a best friend and sister to go through each step of life with,” she captioned photos of them posing together. “You’re a star. The funniest soul I know, I love you ❤️.”

Anouk McGregor, 14

Ewan’s youngest daughter, Anouk McGregor, was born in February 2011. Not much is known about her, but it’s thought that Ewan and Eve adopted her when she was only 3 or 4 months old.

During his interview withThe New York Timesin 2021,Ewan showed the reporter an Obi-Wan doll from Anouk’s room, saying it had “never been played with.”

Speaking about his kids, he said, “There’s no discussion aboutStar Wars. I don’t think they’ve ever watched them. They’re not really interested.”

In September 2021, Ewan won anEmmyfor the lead role inHalston.After thanking his family in his acceptance speech, he opened up to press room reporters about how he supports them.

“I have four daughters — the importance of women and women’s rights and equality for women and equal pay — it’s so great to be in a room where people are talking about that,” Ewan said. “I always think about my girls.”

Laurie McGregor, 3

On June 25, 2021, Ewan and Winstead welcomed a son named Laurie McGregor.

Soon after, Esther posted a photo of her holding the newborn onInstagramwith the caption, “Met my little brother looking like a pirate. I recommend! Welcome to the family little Laurie 🥰.”

Ewan also mentioned his son in his 2021 Emmy Award acceptance speech. “Mary, I love you so much. I’m gonna take this home and show it to our new little boy, Laurie,” the actor said. “And to my beautiful girls, who I know are watching, Clara, Esther, Jamyan and Anouk, hello to you too. Thank you very much everybody!”
