Freida Pinto’sson came along for the ride when she filmedSurface— but got a little confused when he couldn’t figure out why his mom was mad at costarPhil Dunster.
On this week’s episode of PEOPLE in 10, the actress, 40, spoke about joining the thriller series and shared that she was able to bring her son Rumi-Ray, 3, to set with her as she filmed alongside theTed Lassostar.
“Yes, he did, he did," Pinto says of bringing Rumi-Ray along with her. “He still to this day asks me, ‘Why were you so mad at Uncle Phil?’ I won’t tell you why. But I was like, ‘I was just acting, babe!’”

Back in July 2022, Pinto spoke with PEOPLE abouther postpartum experience, noting that it was not an easy feat.
“The hormones plummeting, the mood swings, the sleep deprivation — it was all very real,” she said at the time. “And the hardest part was breastfeeding. My nipples were cracked and bleeding, and my toes would curl when I knew my son was hungry because of the pain I would experience with his bad latch. I’m very proud I stuck with it.”
Pinto, who shares her son with husband Cory Tran, expressed the importance of being prepared for the postpartum experience and planning for a “postpartum sanctuary.”
Pinto alsocandidly spoke about postpartumin an Instagram post shortly after giving birth to her son, saying that it was “one of the most intense and wild rides I have ever been on.”
“It felt like the months being pregnant and even childbirth were little appetizers to this grand main course. Preparation was so key to this life altering phase of mothering and I feel so proud, relieved and blessed to have walked into it with knowledge, research and support,” she said, going on to share her thoughts on “what does it really mean to be postpartum ‘prepared.’ "
