A Georgia man was arrested hours after authorities allege he fatally stabbed a woman.

Brian Moree allegedly fled the scene on foot on the night of Monday, Jan. 13 before being captured the next morning in Dalton, Ga., according to astatementfrom the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office.

“Teamwork is about more than just working together — it’s about bringing all our strengths and resources to bear in the pursuit of justice,” Sheriff Pierce said in the statement.

“It takes a collective effort to respond to a tragedy like this. In just a few hours, we identified the offender, secured arrest warrants, and tracked him down in the woods to make the arrest," the sheriff added. “This shows what’s possible when we stand together for our community.”
