When Gabriel Macht became a father to his kids, Satine and Luca, it was an “enormous” moment for him.

Known for his role asHarvey Specter onSuits, he took a break from acting after the USA Network show ended in 2019 andmoved abroad with his family. Macht has since signed on to appear inSuits LA— a highly anticipated spinoff of the original series.

The actor and his wife, Jacinda Barrett, first met on a blind date and got married in 2004. They welcomed their first child, daughter Satine, in 2007 and their second, son Luca, in 2014.

Macht is a self-described “family man” who loves to be with his wife and kids. In a 2016 interview with the New Zealand outletWoman’s Day, he said, “My relationships with my wife and my kids are my priorities.”

Macht and Barrett welcomed their first child, Satine Anais Geraldine, on Aug. 20, 2007. At the time, a publicist for the couple told PEOPLE, “Mum and Satine are happy and healthy.”

Barrett spoke to PEOPLE about how much she loved being a mom, saying, “Just seeing her every day … she’s just started smiling, and it’s just the simplest thing, a smile.”

In a 2014 interview withThe Charlotte Observer, Macht talked about his love for his daughter and his family. “I’m so appreciative of the opportunity I’ve had to work and the people I’ve been able to work with, but I think family trumps everything,” he told the outlet.

Macht also shared his admiration for Satine’s personality. “To produce a human person that has incredible sensitivity, just a little being who’s empathic and who’s exploring everything and is kind and is motivated … that’s what I’m more proud of,” the actor explained.

As for his work on-screen, he revealed Satine’s thoughts aboutSuitsto Woman’s Day. “My daughter thinks it has too many ‘s—s,’ ” he said. “And she always wants me to write a letter to my boss and say, ‘hey just take out some of those s—s.’ ”

A glance through Barrett’s personal Instagram account shows that the family is always traveling together, and in the Woman’s Day interview, Macht shared, “My daughter has probably been on over 500 planes. She’s an amazing traveler.”

While she’s growing up out of the spotlight, her parents give glimpses of her now and then. In 2019, Barrett posted a photo onInstagramof herself and Satine dancing on a beach. In the caption, she wrote, “Not sure it gets better than this. I’d dance with you my forever, my darling.”

The couple welcomed their son, Luca, in February 2014. A rep told PEOPLE that “the family is over the moon” over the birth.

Like his parents and sister, Luca is also a fan of traveling and has seen quite a bit of the world alongside his family. In a 2016 interview with Woman’s Day, Macht touched on how much they travel, saying, “My kids have their own miles.” He explained that while Satine is a great traveler, Luca wasn’t quite there yet. “My son is slowly getting it,” he said.

“When it is just the four of us wandering in unknown places I’m so happy,” she wrote in the caption. “Our family myth writing itself in each of us – one of moving and immersion, of fear and confrontation, of whimsy and love. Above all, love. We are an army of love."

Barrett has also shared photos onInstagramof Luca at the Empire State Building with Macht,looking at a Banksy muralin Toronto, Canada, andgiving her a kissin front of Buckingham Palace in London.
