The Marchesa co-founder welcomed her daughter and son with her ex-husband, disgraced film producerHarvey Weinstein. The couple wed in 2007 and welcomed their first child together, India, in August 2010. A few years later, Chapman gave birth to their son, Dashiell, in April 2013.

Fast forward, Chapman has been dating actorAdrien Brodysince 2020 and theProject Runwaystar has shared details about her life with him and her children. Most recently, while accepting the award for Best Actor forThe Brutalistat the 2025 Oscars, Brody revealed to the audience that India and Dashiell affectionately call him “popsy.”

Chapman and Weinstein welcomed their first child, daughter India, on Aug. 30, 2010.

“I love you more than you could ever imagine,” the designer wrote onInstagramin honor of India’s birthday in August 2017.

Earlier that same month, Chapman described her then-6-year-old daughter as “very social” when speaking toForbes. She also confirmed that India was named after the country as a nod to one of their family members.

“My grandmother was born in India. I’ve always had this magical connection to the continent,” Chapman shared.

Speaking toMarie Claire, the former actress opened up about the first time she visited India and her wish for her firstborn to experience the same.

Dashiell was born in April 2013

Dashiell was born to Chapman and Weinstein on April 11, 2013.

In honor of Dash’s 11th birthday in April 2024, the Marchesa co-founder gave her son a sweet shout-out onInstagram, calling him her “greatest gift of all.”

Chapman’s children are her “priority”

In August 2017, Chapman spoke toForbesabout how motherhood changed her.

Like others, Chapman had dealt with mom guilt, but “I feel pride, too.”

She added, “I think it’s a very empowering thing for a daughter to see her mother independent, working and having a voice.”

India and Dashiell love animals

Brody, Chapman and her children live on a farm in upstate New York with “a menagerie" of pets — four cats, two donkeys, three horses and a dog named Ziggy.

When India and Dashiell discovered their love for animals, Chapman knew they were destined to leave the Big Apple.

“My daughter loves riding; my son responds to animals,” the mom of two toldVoguein May 2018. “When [India’s] not with a horse she’s pretending to be a horse.”

Over the years, Chapman has shared glimpses ofIndia’s childhood, including her participation inequestrian competitions.

Brody spoke publicly for the first time about India and Dashiell — and the special bond they share — at the Oscars in February 2025.

While accepting his award for Best Actor, he paid tribute to Chapman’s “beautiful children.”

“I know it’s been a rollercoaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life,” Brody said. “Popsy is coming home a winner.”

Dashiell once left Brody speechless

During an interview with PEOPLE in April 2023, Brody recalled when a 9-year-old Dashiell onceleft him speechless.

“[He] asked me — quite seriously: ‘What would you rather eat? Ice cream that tastes like s— or s— that tastes like ice cream?’ " he shared.
