Gwyneth Paltrow Says She's in 'Deep Grief' for 'Close Friends Who Have Lost Everything' in L.A. Fires

On Thursday, Jan. 9, the actress, 52, shared a post on herInstagramas she confirmed her family is safe, some 48 hours aftermultiple fires broke outin Southern California on Jan. 7.

“Our beloved Los Angeles… We are in deep grief for so many of our close friends who have lost everything,” she wrote in a caption. “Thank you to those inquiring, we are currently safe.”

“When the fires are out there will be more to say and everything to do. The city of angels will need angels of all kinds. Please everyone, stay safe and vigilant.”

Paltrow lives in Los Angeles with her husbandBrad Falchuk, whom shemarriedin September 2018. The actress was previously married to Coldplay frontmanChris Martin, with whom she shares twochildren: daughterApple, 20, and sonMoses Martin, 18. (Falchuk, 53, has two children, Brody and Isabella, from his first marriage.)

Paltrow is among dozens of actors and celebrities checking in on social media as the wildfires continue. A number of celebrities — includingBilly Crystal,Anna Faris,Leighton MeesterandAdam Brody,Ricki Lake,Spencer PrattandHeidi Montag,Melissa Rivers, andParis Hilton— havelost their homesin the blazes. Plus the Critics Choice Awards, which are held in Santa Monica,postponed its Jan. 12 ceremonyto Jan. 26, and multiple film premieres have been canceled this week as well.

Jamie Lee Curtispledged that her family intends todonate $1 millionto support victims of the natural disaster in a Jan. 9Instagrampost as she confirmed that her home in the city’s Pacific Palisades neighborhoodremains safe.

“I’m in communication with Governor [Gavin] Newsom and Mayor [Karen] Bass and Senator [Adam] Schiff as to where those funds need to be directed for the most impact,” Curtis wrote in her post.
