What’s in a name?

WhileGypsy-Rose Blanchardbelieves herlate mother Dee Deelikely named her after famed 1930s burlesque dancer Gypsy Rose Lee, when it came to finding a name for her own child, she can’t take full credit.

“Ken came up with that,” she says of boyfriendKen Urker’s idea to name theirunborn daughter Aurora Raina Urker. “There’s a whole backstory to it.”

“Some people think that it’s because Kristy’s dog is named Aurora Grace,” Blanchard says of her stepmom. “It’s not because of that.”

“Back whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, both of us have a fascination withthe Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” she explains of when she and Urker first dated during her prison stay. “I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other’s future kid’s name on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it.”

She says they held on to that name and that memory even after she and Urker split and shemarried Ryan Anderson. “When we had broken up [it was like] ‘Oh, Aurora is never going to be born.’ A lot of people think the origin is one thing, but they don’t know that little story.”
