Halle Berry Says She’s Donating Her ‘Entire Closet’ to Families

Halle Berryis giving back to those in need in Los Angeles amid theongoing wildfiresin the area that have left thousands without a home.

TheCatwomanstar, 58, shared onInstagramthat she is working with actressSharon Stoneand donating her “entire closet” to those in need of “basic” items after losing them in the wildfires.

She shared a look at the donation drive set up at COOP, which is a small home goods business located in Beverly Hills, Calif., in her video. She showed the outside of the store before walking inside to show people organizing donation items like blankets and clothing.

“We have beautiful cashmere sweaters, jeans, new socks, shoes, clothes, blankets…,” she continued. “You can come and shop. You can also donate.”

In the caption for the video, she wrote, “I’m packing up my entire closet and heading over to the COOP! If you live in the Southern California area, I urge you to do the same.”

“This is something we can do right now today to help all of the displaced families that are in need of the basics today! Thank you@sharonstonefor your leadership. Love you Lady ❤️,” she added.

The Oscar-winning actress initially shared a look at the smoke from the fires entering Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jan. 8. In aphoto posted to Instagram, she showed the gray fumes covering the entire sky above Hollywood.

“This is from my hood. Look at the sky. That is smoke, not clouds, from a fire that has consumed over 2,900 acres and remains uncontained,” Berry wrote. “It’s left so many homes and buildings without power and killed at least two people, with more left with significant injuries.”

Since her post, the situation remained dire. As of Jan. 9, at least 10 people have died in the Los Angeles wildfires, the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner confirmed in astatementshared with PEOPLE.

As many as 10,000 structures, including homes and offices, have been destroyed between the Palisades fire — which is reportedly one of themost destructivein Los Angeles’ history — and Eaton fires, according to officials, perCNN.

This has displaced more than 80,000 people, including celebrities likeLeighton MeesterandAdam Brody,Anna Faris,Ricki Lake,Cary ElwesandCameron Mathison, among others.
