Harrison Ford Cancels Oscars Presenting Role After Shingles Diagnosis

Harrison Fordhas dropped out as a presenter at the2025 Oscarsdue to illness.

A rep for the actor confirmed to PEOPLE on Saturday, March 1, that the actor, 82, was diagnosed with shingles on Friday. He canceled his planned appearance at the ceremony on Saturday morning.

During one funny moment at the awards show, as hisShrinkingcostarJessica Williamswasgiving a speech from their tablefor the SAG Awards’ famous “I Am an Actor” segment, Ford was hilariously caught stuffing his face with a cracker in the background.

“I told him to turn away! Don’t look!” Williams quipped during the bit.

“I didn’t know what it was going to be, but it turned out to be something very special for me,” Ford told PEOPLE andEntertainment Weeklyof how viewers have reacted to the show.
