A Colorado city was shining bright this past weekend for theannual Goldens in Golden gathering.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, countless golden retrievers (and their humans) made their way to Downtown Golden, Colo. to celebrate the event, which started in 2019.

Robin Fleischmann, economic development manager for Golden, toldDenver 7that the crowds help boost profits for small businesses within the community.

“It’s a wonderful convergence of people and dogs, and we love celebrating National Golden Retriever Day here,” Fleischmann said. “This event not only brings joy to the community, but also introduces people to Golden, a town that may be a little quieter at this time of year.”

Photos show a sea of dog owners and their golden retrievers posing for a group picture under the arch, which boasts a welcoming “Howdy folks!” sign.

The Goldens in Golden event ran from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. local time, with the group shot pre-scheduled at 11:30 a.m., noon and 12:30 p.m. Visitors were asked to attend just one session to give everyone a chance.

Denver 7 also spoke with people who traveled far and wide to attend Goldens in Golden, such as Eric and Pam Schorsch from Tennessee. The couple made the trip to celebrate Pam’s birthday with their four-month-old pup, who was a gift for their daughter.
