TheBe Ready When the Luck Happensauthor, who turns 77 on Feb. 2, got married to husbandJeffrey Garten, 78, on Dec. 22, 1968, when she was 20 and he was 22. More than 56 years later on Tuesday, Jan. 28, she posted aloving throwback piconInstagramandFacebookfrom their big day.

As a Valentine’s Day treat for fans, she also announced that she’s making a music playlist filled with her favorite duets. To celebrate the romantic holidaylast year, she created an"Ina’s Favorite Love Songs" playlistfor that special someone.

“I’m putting together a playlist for Valentine’s Day with my favorite duets,” Ina wrote in her post’s caption. “It will be available onApple MusicandSpotify. Comment your favorite duets and I’ll try to include them! ❤️❤️”

TheBarefoot Contessastar has fond memories of her nuptials.

“It was a perfect day for a wedding,” she told PEOPLE exclusively in late 2017. The ceremony took place at her parents’ house — which she described as “a very contemporary rock cliff in the woods in Connecticut” — and it included a magical winter surprise.

Throughout their marriage, Ina and Jeffrey’s unconditional support for one another has remained constant.

“We’ve had the good fortune of growing up together in a very compatible way,”Jeffrey told PEOPLEin 2018. “We’re like two vines that grew and wrapped themselves around one another.”

During a live Q&A at PEOPLE’s offices in December 2024, Ina reflected on her and her longtime love’sdecision to not have children.

“I think Jeffrey would’ve been a great parent but I don’t know whether I would’ve been a good parent or not,” she said. “But anyway, I’m totally happy with the decision.”

“I see why people have children, obviously,” she continued. “My friends have children and they love them, and they have wonderful families, and I totally appreciate that. But it took me a long time to understand that.”
