Jamie Lee Curtisis not here for the “holiday industrial complex.”The actress, 66, revealed her mixed feelings about the holiday season while paying a visit toThe Viewon Friday, Dec. 20, to promote her latest film,The Last Showgirl,as well as her new Amazon Prime Video series,The Sticky.While talking to the hosts, Curtis jokingly referred to herself as “Scrooge’s slightly slutty sister” before admitting, “I am a little Scrooge-y.“TheEverything Everywhere All at Oncestar went on to clarify that while she “gets” the charm of the holiday season in theory, she just can’t get behind the stress. Said Curtis, “Obviously, I’m here in New York City — the tree, it’s beautiful. I get the feeling of it. It’s just there’s so much obligation.“The actress then compared holiday shopping to other large commercial industries.“I feel about [the holiday season] like I feel about the beauty industry — which I think is called the beauty industrial complex — and the same way I feel about the cosmeceutical industry — which is the cosmeceutical industrial complex. I also feel [that way] about the holiday industrial complex; where it makes you feel as if you don’t do more, somehow you’re not good enough. And it was fine. I loved my life. I loved the work I got to do. And I raised my daughters. You know, my life is beautiful and full.”“But, you know,” she continued, “I turned 60, and the ‘If not now when, if not me who‘ kicked in. And [also] the idea that I needed to manifest work for myself that’s in my head.”Curtis is currently producing and starring inThe Sticky,a heist show about a Canadian syrup farmer who assembles a team to take on the country’s multi-million dollar maple syrup industry.“[The script] just made me laugh,” Curtis said recently while talking toPrime Canadaabout why she chose the series as her first major producing credit. “It’s incredibly well written. It had that dark comedy sense that I love. It was about something. It was a little crazy.
