In the first snap, the actress can be seen turning her head to the side as she smiles at the camera. Her hair is styled in soft waves, and she’s wearing a light blue sweater with a simple gold necklace and a nose ring. In other photos, Hewitt can be seen tilting her head to the side and sticking out her tongue.

“46 years old. No makeup and no filter (One of my besties hates a filter so this is for you ❤️),” she captioned the post.

“It’s been a hard start to the year,” she continued. “I don’t quite feel myself. But yet I feel like maybe this is all to bring me closer to who I am meant to be. In this feeling of loss and being lost I have found a strange calm and letting go that doesn’t usually come easy to me.”

She then gave a shout-out to her husband,Brian Hallisay, andthree kids, Autumn, Atticus and Aidan — whom she called the “greatest” — along with her mother and friends who “make me want to be a better human daily.”

Hewitt further explained that she has “all the things” that she really needs and longs for, and that she doesn’t need anything else other than “joyful moments, continuing in the career I love, more time with friends” and “delicious food.” She added that she hopes she will “feel a shift this year that brings clarity and hopefully the return of a little magic” before reflecting on growing another year older.

“I have experienced and seen how the world can be cruel to women as they age and yet seen the women I admire become happier, sexier and more powerful with every added number,” she wrote.

Hewitt, who rose to fame as a child actor in shows such asKids Incorporated, has previously made headlines for getting real about aging in the spotlight — which she spoke out about after fielding claims that she looked “unrecognizable” on social media.

During an appearance on theInside of You with Michael Rosenbaumpodcast in December 2023, theI Know What You Did Last Summerstar pushed back on the claims, which arose after shedebuted a dark bob to her Instagram followers.

“Aging in Hollywood is really hard. It’s really hard because you can’t do anything right,” Hewitt told the podcast’s host,Michael Rosenbaum.

“It’s dangerous what we put on people. It’s dangerous, I think, to say to women, ‘You can’t look like you’re not 22 to me anymore because I don’t know how to take that,’ ” she said.
