Jonas Brothers Tease 20th Anniversary Plans After Sparking Split Fears Among Fans: 'We Have Been Reflecting a Lot Lately'

The Jonas Brothersjust announced some exciting news on social media, despite initially sparking concern among fans who thought they might be breaking up again.

On Wednesday, Feb. 12,Nick,JoeandKevin Jonasshared a lengthy letteron Instagram, addressing it to their “incredible fans” ahead oftheir 20-year anniversary.

The trio continued, “To us, it feels like just yesterday we were loading up our family mini-van with a couple of guitars and copies ofIt’s About TimeCDs, en route to an afternoon performance at a local mall to play for anyone who would listen,” referencing their debut album, which was released in August 2006. The group first signed with Columbia Records the year prior.

The “Sucker” singers went on, “We were chasing our dream to play music and connect with others in a deep way that only music can provide. We were teenagers then… actually, Nick wasn’t even old enough to get into a PG-13 movie.”

“In the years that followed, you’ve given us a thousand lifetimes of incredible memories. We wake up each day filled with gratitude that you’ve been on this 20-year journey with us. Together, we have celebrated wins, made mistakes, overcome obstacles and grieved losses. Put simply: we’ve all grown up together,” they added.

The band first announced their breakup in 2013, before they confirmed they were getting back together in 2019. They most recently hit the road with theirFive Albums. One Night. The World Tour, which ran from August 2023 until October 2024.

“It’s seemingly impossible to put our appreciation into words. None of this would have been possible without you. You’ve shown up for us. Rooted for us. Encouraged us. And inspired us,” the brothers continued in their Instagram post.

Announcing that 2025 would “be a year of music” for the group, the post added, “New Jonas Brothers music. Solo music. A live concert album. And a soundtrack. Nick returns to Broadway this spring forThe Last Five Years. And we are nearly wrapped on our holiday movie that we can’t wait for you to see this fall,” they continued, afterDisney announced the upcoming festive flicklast month.

“Expect a lot more announcements over the coming days and weeks. From the bottom of our hearts: thank you! Here’s to the next 20 years, and here’s to doing it together. The best is yet to come. Love, Kevin, Joe, and Nick,” the band concluded, captioning the post with a red heart emoji.

“When you see this letter you think they are splitting up. But they are gonna have more music now ❤️,” another added.

“I panicked for a sec,” a further fan shared, as one insisted, “I almost thought it was a breakup post😭”

“The letterhead had us all shook. Bro our lives are fragile😭 lol,” a further person commented, as one said: “I was legit thinking you’re breaking up again 🤦🏽‍♀️”

It’s been nearly two years since the Jonas Brothers released their last LP,The Album, in May 2023, but both Joe and Nick have been working on music of their own.

Last July, Joe, 35, announced he’d be releasing a new albumMusic for People Who Believe in Love, and while the full project’s release date is still TBD, he’s dropped two singles: “Work It Out” and “What’s It Gonna Be.” On Dec. 7, Nick, 32, teased “some new vibes” in a brief videoon Instagram.

Whilespeaking to PEOPLEin December about his brothers' solo projects, Kevin insisted, “The thing about us, which I think is really fun, is there’s no rules."

“I think that’s what’s so dynamic and cool about us,” he continued. “And there’s not like, ego involved. There used to be, and I think that’s what broke up the band. But now we’ve come back, and it’s just like — whatever works for everyone.”
