After Keisha reveals she is still running track and Justin says “it’s a make or break year” in his basketball career, it is clear both high schoolers have a lot on their plates, but the chemistry between them continues to build.
“These came for Keisha,” her mom says as a large bouquet of red roses sits on the kitchen table. “They clearly cost a pretty penny.”
Soon, however, the pressures of life start to overwhelm Keisha and she pulls away from the relationship. “What’s wrong?” Justin asks her, to which she replies, “I can’t afford to like anyone right now.”
Heartbroken, he says, “Don’t say that,” before she suddenly hangs up the phone.
And despite the Keisha’s unease, Justin doesn’t give up on her. “I think we have something good going,” he says. “Or we could, if you give it a chance.”
