A Kansas woman has her local community to thank for rallying together to help her have the wedding of her dreams following her second cancer diagnosis.
The mother of two was cleared of her diagnosis of cervical cancer in December 2024 before the discovery of tumors in her brain led to her terminal cancer diagnosis in February 2025.

“It was tumors on my brain,” Farrell toldKWCH News 12, describing one of them as “lime-sized.”
“But then they also spread everywhere else,” she added in the joint interview with Nathan.
The GoFundMe, which was organized to support her “final dreams,” noted that Farrell’s terminal cancer had spread to her cervix, kidneys, liver, lungs, thyroid and brain.
Since the link was shared, Mike has raised more than $20,000 of their $25,000 goal to help the couple have “a complete wedding with a wedding dress” and also “a dream vacation to Italy to eat the food as she is an accomplished chef and is Italian.”
“It’s overwhelming, but a good overwhelming because it’s like people care,” Farrell told the news station. “The help has been tremendous, and that’s taken a huge weight off of our shoulders.”
KWCH News 12was present when Farrell and Nathan got married over the weekend and spoke exclusively to the husband and wife after their ceremony.
“I was trying my best to keep it together,”the groom said. “But I knew it wasn’t gonna happen. She looked absolutely amazing. Last night, we had to cut off all her hair because it was falling out, but everything turned out so beautifully.”

The newlyweds each expressed their gratitude for members of the community helping them, from the bride’s wedding dress and nails, all the way to the venue where the ceremony was held.
“The love has been amazing, incredible,” Farrell said. “I wouldn’t be able to have any of what we’re having right now without the community support. I thank them for that because it’s unbelievable.”
