Kate MiddletonandPrince Williamjoined Welsh commuters in a surprise move.

The Prince and Princess of Walespaid a joint visitto Pontypridd in Wales ahead of the country’s national holiday, St. David’s Day, on March 1.

In May 2023, theymet TikToker Francis Bourgeoison the Elizabeth Line in London. Bourgeois, who documents his love of trains for his 3.2 million TikTok followers, encountered the royal couple as they disembarked at Tottenham Court Road station.

“Nice to meet you. I hope you enjoyed the Elizabeth Line,” he told the couple as they shook his hand.

Prince William replied, “Yes, we did. Cheerio.”

And while they’veflown privately to royal tours, the couple sometimes opt for a commercial flight, like when theytraveled to Boston in 2022for the Earthshot Prize awards.

The outing marked Prince William and Princess Kate’s second joint royal engagement of the year, following theirattendance at a Holocaust Memorial Day servicein London on Jan. 27. Kate has recently returned to royal work afterannouncing in Januarythat she was in remission from cancer.
