On Thursday, Dec. 12, McPhee, 40, shared a photograph onInstagramof herself posing with her arms around herSmashcostar Hilty, 43, and Hilty’sDeath Becomes HercostarJennifer Simardafter a performance of the Broadway musical.
“Got to see my beautiful friend @meganhilty shine on stage last night! CRUSHED it as usual and that’s a big understatement,” McPhee wrote in a caption to her post.
“She & @thejennifersimard were the dynamic hilarious duo we all need right now. Go see @deathbecomesher on Broadway, you will have an absolute blast! I’m truly so proud of you, M!”
McPhee and Hilty portrayed two Broadway actresses who often competed for parts acrossSmash’s two seasons. The series also featured Debra Messing, Jack Davenport, Christian Borle, Anjelica Huston, Brian D’Arcy James, Leslie Odom, Jr. and Jeremy Jordan.

“People throw around the term ‘dream come true’ a lot. I’ve been known to do that myself, and not that I didn’t mean it before, but I really, really mean it with this job,” Hilty told PEOPLE ofDeath Becomes Heras it opened in November.
“Because it really has been so satisfying. The script is genius. The songs are incredible.The costumes are stunning. There’s just a magic to it where you can feel how uniquely special it is.”
