Kathy Hilton Says Sister Kim Richards Is 'Doing Well' and Will Be Spending Christmas with the Family (Exclusive)

Kathy Hiltonis sharing an update on her sisterKim Richards' health ahead of the holidays.

“She’s doing well,” Kathy tells PEOPLE, adding of whether Kim, 60, and their sisterKyle Richardswill be with her over Christmas, “Yes. We’ll all be together.”

Kathy says her daughterParis Hiltonis keen to host either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day this year.

“Paris wants to do one of them… I’m used to doing it all. Or we go to Kyle’s or we go to Kim’s, so I will see,” the mother of four adds.

When it comes toher eight grandkids, Kathy says she keeps gifts “real simple and easy.”

“You know what? I asked them what they want,” she shares, adding, “I just get them a couple things and that’s it.”

Asked if Kim is doing better, Kathy replied, “Yes,” before adding, “I think in the world there’s always hope.”

In September,a source told PEOPLEthat Kim’s “reliance on alcohol has been an ongoing source of conflict between her and her sisters” with the issue being especially difficult for Kyle. It was reported the pair had allegedly been involved in a dispute earlier that month.

“It particularly weighs heavily on Kyle, who has always been the worrier of the family,” the insider said at the time. “She does her best to take care of Kim — and essentially bankrolls Kim’s life, with Kathy [Hilton] — but never knows where the line goes between helping and enabling.”

“The family are very private about details, but from the little they’ve said, it’s clear they’ve reached another breaking point with her,” the source previously said, emphasizing how “this has happened before.”

“It’s the same cycle: chaos until there’s some incident that gets Kim back on track, then brief steadiness as they repair their relationship, then the drinking starts again, Kim makes excuses, Kyle pleads she gets help, etc. etc.,” the insider continued.
