On Sunday, Jan. 5, the pop star, 37, celebrated the 15th anniversary of her debut albumAnimal— a project which featured favorites like “Your Love Is My Drug,” “TiK ToK,” “Blah Blah Blah” and “Party at a Rich Dude’s House” — in anInstagram tribute.
She continued: “I’m so happy I did, and so happy you’ve connected to it the way that you have, and continue to do so. 15 years later, TiK ToK had its biggest streaming day just a few days ago. Just goes to show that we all go through these same pivotal feelings and emotions growing up. I’m so happy to have grown up with all of you.““Happy anniversaryAnimal. I had no idea you were that bitch. But turns out you totally are,” Kesha concluded.
Alongside the caption, the “Praying” hitmaker shared a throwback video where she was asked what she thought about the joyAnimalbrought her fans.
“The only reason I made this record is to make kids have fun and have dance parties and inspire people to just be happy,” she said in the clip, which features a montage of memories from that era. “This whole is just kind of a very youthful, irreverent record. And I want it to be one of those records that you just put on and no matter what you’re doing or where you are it makes you happy.”
