Lady Gaga Says She and Fiancé Michael Polansky Have Spoken About Having Kids and She's 'Ready' to Be Humbled by It

Lady Gagais open to embracing all parts of parenthood in the future.

“That’s something Michael and I have talked about a lot — allowing our kids to be their own people,” Gaga, 38, toldEllein the interview, published Tuesday, Jan. 28. “It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world."

She continued, “And they’re told how to think and what to believe in and how to eat … I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.”

When the interviewer mentioned to her that children will naturally humble you as a parent, theA Star Is Bornactress responded, “Oh, I’m ready.”

Speaking about how her future kids might react to her career, Gaga said, “I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them. I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me.”

“Maybe other than that I just did my best. And tried to stay true to myself along the way,” she added.

Gaga also told the outlet of her future children’s opinion of her past, “My kid might one day say, ‘Mom, why do you do these things? I saw a funny video of you dressed up.’ Most certainly that will happen. And you know, maybe it’s okay to say, ‘What do you think?’ ”

Gagaconfirmed her engagementto Polansky, a venture capitalist, at theSummer Olympicsin Paris in July 2024.

The pair, who made theirpublic debut as a couplein February 2020, firstsparked engagement rumorsin April 2024 after Gaga was seen sporting a diamond ring in West Hollywood, California.

Polansky, 41, toldElleof the pair’s relationship, “[It’s] probably a lot like everyone else’s.”

“We just have to figure out how to do some of it in public,” he added. “That makes it even more important for us to have strong friendships and close family relationships. We find normalcy where we can.”

Gaga’s latest interview comes shortly after she unveiled the title, cover and release date forher upcoming albumMayhemon Instagram Monday, Jan. 27.

She also shared withEllethat her fiancé “helped me loads” on the project, set for release on March 7, having written seven songs.

“It’s been one of the most incredible parts of this chapter of my life,” Polansky told the publication. " … I think of myself as really lucky to have been there for it."
