Liev Schreiberhad his doubts about his role inThe Perfect Couple.
Shortly after winning best supporting actor in a miniseries at the 2025Critics Choice Awardson Feb. 7, the actor, 57, told reporters that he had his doubts about his role as Tag Winbury in hit Netflix series.
When asked if there would be a second season ofThe Perfect Couple, Schreiber admitted, “I haven’t heard anything,” but added, “After a Critics Choice award, another job would be a nice follow up.”
“It was a really great ensemble,” he said of the cast. “To be honest, it was a job that I was really nervous about.”

He explained, “I hadn’t worked in a while and my son was giving me a hard time for not working and I was like, ‘Sash, this isn’t a great part. It’s like, this guy’s a complete douche canoe.’ And he was like, ‘You got to work.'”
In addition to Schreiber, the cast includedNicole Kidman,Dakota Fanning,Meghann Fahy,Eve Hewson,Sam Nivola, Jack Reynor and Billy Howle.
Though Schreiber had his doubts about playing Tag, Hilderbrand previously revealed to PEOPLE at the Los Angeles premiere of the Netflix show thatshe actually had the actor in mind for the roleeven before he was cast.

“I did give a wishlist specifically,” Hilderbrand said of the show casting. “Well, specifically once I knew Nic was playing Greer, I really wanted Liev to do it.”
“I was a hugeRay Donovanfan, he’s one of my favorite actors. And I sent my wish to the showrunner,” she added. “And she said, ‘I don’t know.’ And then a few weeks later, she goes, ‘Elin, you might get your wish.’ And she didn’t say in regard to what, but I was hoping that’s what she was talking about.”

Upon accepting his award on Feb. 7, Schreiber gave his wifeTaylor Neisenand his son Sasha a special shout-out during his speech.
“Thank you to my beautiful wife Taylor and my son Sasha for convincing me to come,” he said. “I told them that there’s no way on God’s earth and that company that I would win this award.”
Schreiber continued, “I’m very, very grateful, and I think it really comes down to Susanne Bier, Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning – an extraordinary ensemble of actors.”
