A man says he called his sister-in-law “pathetic” after he got fed up with her constantlycomparing their kids— and now says his wife’s family is not happy.

“The babies are the first of a new generation on their side of the family so everyone was excited,” he explained.

He goes on to write that — even though his sister-in-law was technically due to give birth first, his wife ended up going into labor earlydue to complications, and his nephew was born at full-term two weeks later.

The man says the drama unfolded during a recent lunch at his in-laws.

“My wife and I were excited to tell everyone that our sonlaughed for the first timeearlier that day,” he wrote, adding that they also brought a video of the moment to show everyone. However, he says that while showing their in-laws the clip, his sister-in-law made a “comment about how HER son did that a month ago.”

“Needless to say this ruined lunch and my wife’s family is pissed,” he continued while explaining that this was the first time he had ever spoken to a member ofhis wife’s familyin such a way and that they typically each “handle our own relatives.”

The man’s fellow Redditors were quick to assure him that he was not, in fact, the “a——” and that he should actually be commended for how he handled the situation.

Other commenters suggested that he and his wife should try to make a game out of his sister-in-law’s absurd behavior to both ease their frustration and put her in her place.

“Turn it into bingo cards on your phone and one of you has to yell out Bingo when you get it,” joked one person.

“ ‘What’s the over/under on how many times she compares our babies during a 2-hour brunch? Winner gets to sleep in tomorrow!’ Say it in front of her,” added another.
