One lucky woman got a new fence thanks to her neighbor — who did it for free.

“The person that answered the door was her mom, and when I asked her about the fence, she said they’ve been wanting to get it down for, like, two to three years now,” Uncle Jhonn said. “But every time they try to get a contractor or someone to come out and look at it, it was well over $6,000 to get it replaced.”

He added that the single mom was going through several struggles, including being in an accident about three months ago “that caused her to completely total her car and caused serious injury to her neck.” The TikTok user also said the woman had lost her husband about three years ago.

After assessing the condition of the fence, he said he decided to build the woman a whole new one.

“It cost me, like, right over $2,000 to do, and that’s simply because everything that I use is built to last, so they don’t never have to worry about this fence falling over again,” he said.

Uncle Jhonn tells PEOPLE that what motivates him to help others is “the belief that small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect.”
