Martha Stewarthas definitely convinced me that beige is anything but boring.
To be fair, I’m a major fan of every sweater the entertaining expert has worn in the past year, from alemon yellow crewneckto anespresso crocheted cardigan. But it’s her most recent knit that really piqued my interest — mostly because it’s the latest in a long line of lightweight beige sweaters. In a recent Instagram post, Stewart cozied up in a beige V-neck sweater with contrast trim and rolled cuffs. She layered the tunic-length silhouette over blue skinny jeans and finished with a pair ofSkechers Glide-Step Pro Slip-Ins.
I’ll admit I’ve been taking notes on Stewart’s sweater collection, and she’s certainly made a case for beige sweaters in recent months. She promoted her new cookbook in asweater with dramatic lantern sleeves, wore a plushknit lounge set, whipped up recipes for herMartha Cooksseries in acollared cardigan, and celebrated her 83rd birthday in acrocheted open cardigan. Let’s just say I’ve decided all of those styles need to be in my spring sweater rotation.
Stewart’s not alone in layering up with a lightweight beige sweater, either; multiple celebs have done so in trending monochromatic looks.Oprah WinfreyandDemi Mooreeach paired a beige crewneck with wide-leg trousers, andJennifer Lopezteamed a fitted turtleneck with baggy cargo pants.
Ready to add a beige sweater to your spring closet à la Stewart? I’ve rounded up 10similar lightweight sweaterson Amazon, and they’re all under $40.
