Matthew Gaudreau's Mom Celebrates Birth of His Son After His Tragic Death: 'Hearts Are Overflowing with Love'

The mother of late hockey playerMatthew Gaudreauoffered heartwarming words on social media following the recent birth of her new grandson.

Madeline announcing Tripp’s arrival in an Instagram post on Dec. 29.

“Mom-Mom & Pop-Pop’s hearts are overflowing with love for you, Tripp Matthew,” Jane wrote. “We are so incredibly proud of you and your mommy and I know your Daddy is too!”

Jane also shared her daughter-in-law’s photo on her Instagram Stories with the same sweet words for her infant grandson.

Matthew, 29, and Johnny, 31, were laid to rest on Sept. 9 at a joint funeral, where she and Johnny’s widow Meredithgave emotional speecheshonoring their late husbands, and Meredith revealed she is also pregnant.

On Aug. 29 a little after 8 p.m., both Matthew and Johnny were killed when a driver suspected of being under the influence of alcohol struck and killed them while they were biking in Oldmans Township, N.J.

The driver responsible for the brothers’ deaths was recently indicted on multiple charges.

Higgins was also indicted on charges of fourth-degree tampering with physical evidence and second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
