Louisa Jacobsonis sharing how she’ll be spending Valentine’s Day this year!

The actress, 33, spoke with PEOPLE at a dinner for the Human Rights Campaign earlier this month. As she prepares to spend Valentine’s Day with her partner Anna Blundell, Jacobson says they plan to do one of her favorite things.

“I’m going dancing on Valentine’s Day!” she says, noting that she like any music that is “just fun techno house.”

“To be visible is to be vulnerable,” she said. “Unfortunately, vulnerability is often seen as a weakness. But in truth, it’s one of the most powerful tools that we have for connection.”

She continued: “As an actor, I’ve learned that the most powerful performances happen when the actor allows themselves to be revelatory — when they drop the mask and stand in the raw truth of who they are. It’s the same in life.”

“The moments where we drop the mask, and allow ourselves to be seen, those are the moments when we truly connect with others,”The Gilded Agestar concluded.

Reflecting on her journey with her sexuality, Jacobson told PEOPLE that she was grateful to have “so much support.”

“It means everything to be honored,” she gushed. “I am so, so grateful and thankful to the HRC. I was surprised because I had only recently come out. It’s such a brilliant opportunity to speak about visibility and what it means to this community and what it means to me.”

“I am so lucky that work in the industry that I do,” she added. “That I’m in a community of artists who also identify as LGBTQ so it’s just a warm, lovely welcome that I am blessed to have and I don’t take that for granted.”
